When you buy a new boiler, it is covered for manufacturing defects for a certain time. But what is the difference between a boiler guarantee and a boiler warranty? Boiler Guarantee vs Boiler Warranty

The biggest difference between a boiler guarantee and a boiler warranty is that the guarantee is usually provided free of charge, whereas a warranty is typically cover that is bought alongside or afterwards (like a form of insurance). The benefit of a guarantee is that it is legally binding and so it adds to your legal consumer rights.

Some of the other differences between the two products include the fact that warranties will often only cover certain parts of the product. An example of this is that when you take out a warranty on your new car, you will find that consumables like the tyres, brake pads and exhaust are typically not covered. A warranty also entitles the manufacturer to charge you for call outs. By contrast, a guarantee typically covers the whole product and is valid provided that certain conditions are met, for example by ensuring that your boiler is serviced annually by a gas safe registered heating engineer.
