Here are some Easter Spring-cleaning tips for your central heating system:

• Check the central heating system is working properly, and that the boiler’s pressure gauge is set to the correct level. If necessary top it up using its filling loop.
• Bleed your radiators. If you have any cold spots on your radiators, this is most likely due to air getting trapped in the central heating system, making it run less efficiently.
• Insulate your hot water tank to help to conserve heat and save on those ever-growing heating bills.
• Insulate all of the accessible water pipes to try to prevent them from bursting in the winter.
• Seal all around your windows and doors using draught excluder to stop the warm air from escaping through them.
• Replace the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
