How To Reset Your Boiler
- Refer to your boiler manual
The first thing to do is to refer to the instruction manual, which will tell you precisely how to reset the model of boiler that is installed in your home.
- Push the reset button for 10 seconds
Usually, the reset button has to be pressed for a few seconds. This is to stop you from inadvertently resetting the boiler when you do not intend to.
- Wait for 2 – 3 minutes, the boiler should fire up
You may see a light on the front or a pilot flame inside the boiler through a small window to indicate that the boiler has fired up.
- Repeat if the first attempt fails.
If you do not see the light, try to reset the boiler again.
- What if the boiler fails to fire upon the third attempt?
Now it is time to check the gas supply. If the gas is working (test with a gas hob or gas fire) it might be a fault with the boiler so call an engineer.
- The reset button is not accessible.
If you cannot find the reset button or it is behind casing. do not attempt the reset yourself, call a Gas Safe registered professional.
