We all know it is not much fun when your central heating system breaks down, especially in the winter. L&W’s central heating engineers have a wide range of knowledge on different types of boilers and boiler manufacturer’s, i.e. Worcester, Valliant and Ideal to name a few. Read our boiler installation guide below to find out all the information you need before you contact L&W Heating and Plumbing Services.

Booking a survey appointment

  • Call us on 01925 394260 to schedule an appointment for a free, no-obligation survey.
  • If an email address is provided the appointment will be confirmed via email.
  • The customer will receive a courtesy call the day prior to the survey to confirm our visit.

Survey

  • A qualified, competent engineer will attend within the allotted timeframe.
  • The engineer will then need to take a look at your current heating system (boiler, radiators, controls).
  • The engineer will discuss what the customer with regards to the type of boiler required (if you’re unsure of the type of installation, see our types of boiler page), manufacturers, and location etc. with the engineer confirming feasibility.
  • The engineer will then complete the survey form and return to the office.

Estimate

  • The following working day the estimate will be formulated by a member of the office team.
  • The estimate will be sent via post or email.
  • If the customer decides to go ahead with the estimate they can contact the office by phone or email to book a suitable date for the installation to be completed.

Installation

  • Courtesy phone call/text/email the day prior to the installation date.
  • The engineer will turn up between 8-9am and will explain the work that is to be carried out.
  • The areas that are due to be worked in will be covered with dust sheets (shoe covers will be worn throughout the duration of the job).
  • As soon as the customer is satisfied the engineers will commence with the installation.
  • The engineer will fill out any documentation required by the manufacturer and will leave it with the customer to keep somewhere safe.
  • L&W is proud of its reputation for doing an excellent job and understand the importance of feedback from our customers. Upon completion of the job our engineers will provide a feedback card. Although there is no obligation to fill it in we’d be grateful as your review will tell others how confident and satisfied you are with our service.
  • The manufacturer’s warranty card/s will be taken away allowing the office team to register the customer’s boiler and any accessories – this will allow for any extended warranties that have been given to the customer to be added.
  • The boiler will be registered with the Gas Safe Register.
