• The engineer will ensure that the boiler is working safely and efficiently this includes checking; correct gas pressure, flow, flue and combustion.
• Servicing minimises the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning, gas leaks, fires and explosions.
• A regularly maintained boiler will help to prevent any problems from being left long-term. The engineer can very quickly identify any damaged parts, water leaks or rust upon the boiler service.  If it’s picked up quickly enough it will avoid further damage or even more costly a new boiler.
• Regular maintenance on a boiler will help to prolong its life.
• If your boiler is under a manufacturers warranty – most manufacturers insist that the boiler is serviced annually in order to keep your warranty valid.

What are the risks of an unsafe boiler?

• Gas leaks can occur as a result of faulty appliances and/or pipework. Gas gives off a distinctive odour allowing detection.  If you think you can smell gas at any time phone the National Grid helpline on 0800 111 999.
• Carbon Monoxide is silent and undetectable, it can be caused by poorly maintained or unsafe gas appliance. Contact L&W heating engineers and arrange to fit a carbon monoxide detector.
