This, especially when fitted in conjunction with a new energy efficient boiler, considerably reduces the risk of radiator blockages and boiler damage. A filter connects to the return pipework and filters out debris and dirt before the water goes back into the boiler and around the system again. The filter is designed to combat the effects of debris and pollutants in the heating system by collecting up contaminants before they can reach the boiler.  This increases the life of your boiler and has a dramatic effect on its efficiency. Efficient boilers mean lower energy bills.

But what if you have an older boiler and you have noticed it running less efficiently. Perhaps you have noticed cold spots appearing in your radiators and bleeding the system doesn’t make them go away.

Power flushing your heating system

There is another option for removing sludge that does not entail fitting a new boiler: the power flush. This is a one-off deep clean for your central heating system. It will flush out the debris and sludge that has been building up in your heating system and radiators, and can also clear away any blockages that are causing those pesky cold spots on your radiators.

After it has been refilled, an inhibitor is added into the central heating system. A full central heating power flush normally take a few hours.
